Many thanks to Steve, a hang gliding enthusiast from Northeast Washington, for sharing pictures from his aerial adventure at Steptoe Butte State Park Heritage Site! Do you fly the friendly skies over Washington state parks? Tell us about it! Share your story and photos, and we might just feature them here on Adventure Awaits!
In June, photographer Tim Grey from New York offers photography workshops in the Palouse Country of Southeast Washington.
A favorite stop for his group is at Steptoe Butte State Park Heritage Site where we fly our hang gliders and paragliders.
The view of the Palouse from Steptoe is fantastic! Here are some of Tim’s photos of me flying Steptoe from this June. I’m flying a Wills Wing U2-160 hang glider. Steptoe is ideal for our sport, since we can launch into all wind directions from, at or near the top of the butte.
