Belfair State Park
Belfair (Directions)

Hood Canal is legendary for its natural beauty, and Belfair State Park is no exception.

Walk on the pebbled shore, take your kayak or paddleboard for a spin or just sit and fly a kite on the shore. The whole family will enjoy strolls along the park’s two freshwater creeks. Get cozy in the upgraded campsites featuring more privacy and room for your gear. Pitch your tent in one of the semi-private forest sites or park that RV in one of the easy-access pull-through sites by the water.

Reserve one of Belfair State Park's pull-through sites for easy RV camping.

Potholes State Park
Othello (Directions)

Warm weather, brilliant blue skies, stunning geological features, fishing, birding, swimming and more — Potholes is a camper’s oasis conveniently located near the center of the state.

Pick a site in the tree-shaded camp circles featuring easy in-and-out access for tent campers and RVs alike. With more than a mile of freshwater shoreline, this is the perfect park for that that last-minute fishing trip or one more chance to take the water toys out for a spin before fall begins in earnest. Kids can enjoy the playground, then cool off with a swim in the Potholes Reservoir.

Potholes waterfront

Swim and relax on the shore of Potholes Reservoir.

Twin Harbors State Park
Westport (Directions)

Get the most from the coast at this Westport-area camping park. Cozy, forested campsites are just steps from the stroll-worthy Pacific shore. Head into Westport for the afternoon and visit Grays Harbor Lighthouse. Or fly a kite, hike the short interpretive Shifting Sands Trail, play Frisbee on the beach and then head back to camp for dinner around the campfire.

You’ll also find opportunities here for diving and surf fishing, depending on the season. Wish to fish? Don’t forget that license!

Ocean City State Park
Hoquiam (Directions)

Going for a drive on the beach is a popular activity at this unpretentious ocean side camping park. Camp by night in the forested campground, and then pack a day at the beach in your car or scooter and hang by the shore. Fish or explore the beach, and make sure to bring some binoculars for bird watching.

Bring your clubs and enjoy a day of golf at the 18-hole Ocean Shores Golf Course located nearby in Ocean Shores, or pack your badminton, croquet or volleyball equipment and set up a game on the park’s lawn.
